It occurred to me that the great, most well-known self-development 'guru' of personal development has been remarkably silent within the dialogue of the Law of Attraction.
Why?
His work reflects many of the principles outlined in Law of Attraction texts:
Focus on what you desire
Take (inspired) action
Remove (emotional) blocks to success
Condition yourself for success
Believe in yourself
"Achieve happily rather than achieve to be happy".
I think it would be wonderful to have Tony say something about the Law of Attraction or the Secret and add to the ongoing awareness and development of this body of knowledge.
In the meantime, Robbins's work continues to have a long-lasting impact on me and my work. I refer to his writing and tapes often for ideas and strategies in making breakthroughs in perception.
And who could fault him for his energy and enthusiasm?
If anyone has read or sighted a Tony Robbins comment on Law of Attraction or the Secret, please let me know - I'd love to hear what he has to say on the matter.
Hi Zoe,
ReplyDeleteI was actually at Wealth Mastery in San Francisco in early May when Tony made a surprise appearance there on the first day. His first appearance at Wealth Mastery in a decade. Actually, no one except Joe Williams and one of the technical crew knew - so it was a surprise to the trainers as well. Anyway, Tony and Joe made references throughout the program to The Secret. While I don't remember the specifics of what was said, what it came down to was this: It's not enough to attract these things into your life. You must take action. You must recognize what you have attracted into your life and take action on it. I'm sure more will be discussed in future events. I will be crewing the Long Beach event in a couple of weeks, so we'll see if it's discussed further.
Hello Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that! I am really keen to hear what Tony has to say about the Secret and the whole Law of Attraction thing.
Taking action is one of the biggest points emphasised by Bob Doyle, Joe Vitale, and James Ray from the Secret. Without it, the Secret becomes the idea that it is all aobut wishful thinking.
Even though there is clear mention of taking action in the Secret, it gets a little washed over by all the hype.
Have fun crewing!
Zoe
Hi,Zoe
ReplyDeleteVery funny to read your post and this comment from Anonymous. I had the same experience: the first time I heard about the Secret was at the Wealth Mastery in London in February 2007.
The speaker, who was not Tony himself but Joe (can't find his last name) introduced us straight from the beginning to the idea & belief of "Abundance" and mentionned the Secret. He said that a philosophy based on Abundance will help us achieve true Wealth. That's the message contained in The Secret, clearly.
I can't tell you the impact of discovering & watching the Secret had on my Life.
It changed me forever and continues every day.
Having been a long time follower of Tony, he is totally believing in the same principle, he just like through his style to focus more on calls to action & initial psychology being it than the science of the LOA (like my mentor Bob Doyle does).
That was a great post,
Thanks, Zoe

Hi Olivier!
ReplyDeleteYup - I love Tony Robbins stuff too - his energy is so inspiring! I was just thinking about the firewalk just this morning.
Bob Doyle is also one of my favourites - I'm a Wealth Beyond Reason student and absolutely love it! EFT is one of the most powerful tools.
I'm curious, How has your life changed?
Zoe-
