One of the things I hear from folks who are new to the Law of Attraction is how can they *know* that the Law of Attraction is for real, and not some new age hokey pokey load of twaddle.
Here's my answer: believing in the Law of Attraction is like choosing to believe in anything else - you've got to decide to believe in it.
Most of the time however we don't 'decide' to believe in anything at all - we take our beliefs for granted as they come to us from our parents, experiences, circumstances, schools, and so on.
They get absorbed in to our system through repetition. Like when parents say, "there's never enough money" over and over and over. If you hear it often enough, you come to believe it as true.
And as you hear it over and over, your Inner Self might question it, and ask "is it really true? is it true "there is never enough money"? When you ask a question like that, you are directing your subconscious to find evidence...and find it it does.
There is something like 6 trillion bits of information in any given moment in any given location. Your brain needs some way of processing what's important. So if you ask it to find evidence of "there's never enough money" - that's what it will filter out for you.
The good news is that if you ask it to find evidence of 'limitless abundance', then that is what it shows you too.
Try this: go out in to nature, in a forest, or in a park. Is there life or death there? If you've ever been to
a forest, you'll answer straight away - there are BOTH. There are things that are dead and dying, and there are things that are living and growing. You might even say that there are things growing out of the dead things, therefore there is nothing but life!
a forest, you'll answer straight away - there are BOTH. There are things that are dead and dying, and there are things that are living and growing. You might even say that there are things growing out of the dead things, therefore there is nothing but life! Now try the same thing with the question, "is there poverty or wealth in the world?" The answer again is BOTH - it depends on where you look.
Exactly. If you go looking for poverty, you'll find it. If you go looking for wealth you will find it too.
So which do you want - wealth or poverty? which feels better? which might open up more possibilities for you? what will enable you to contribute more to the world?
Here's a hint: you can't get rich focusing on poverty. And you can't help the poor when you are poor yourself.
So how does this answer the question,
"how can I know the Law of Attraction is for real?"
"how can I know the Law of Attraction is for real?"
Look for evidence.
Like I did driving in to the busiest car park in Canberra at peak lunch hour. I was already a little nervous and on edge as I was about to deliver a workshop. I always get excited before a presentation, and the prospect of driving around and around looking for a carpark added to my nerves. I knew I needed to change my vibe pronto to avoid attracting any dramas.
So as I drove in to the car park, I said to myself, "the Universe looks after me". A car pulled out of a space - hooray! The car in front of me snagged it - and I was about to do a 'boo hoo', but repeated instead, "the Universe looks after me". As I waited for the cars ahead to do their switcheroo, I really savoured how comforting that thought of "the Universe looks after me" really was.
The moment I allowed myself to feel that flood of optimism and comfort, another car pulled out of a space in prime position. Woohoo! The Universe really does look after me!
So my friends, want proof of the Law of Attraction, look for it, expect it, and so its magic will appear for you too.
haha I like your post .....I am waiting for more...

Yes, the Universe does look after us..in more ways than parking spaces and short lines at the grocery. Thing is, we have to recognize it. The good and the bad. Good post. Now it's time to elaborate.
ReplyDeleteHi Gina and Michael
ReplyDeleteAwareness of the 'univserse' and its machinations is certainly a big question for my readers and clients. For many it's the first time they've been exposed to the idea of changing your thoughts and beliefs and for many that in itself is mind-blowing!
Realising that you are in fact in charge of everything freaks them out a little too! LOL Law of Attraction is not for the faint-hearted...but for those who choose self-empowerment, realising they can attract and create anything in their life is a ticket to the kind of freedom they hardly dared to imagine.
Incidentally, I don't believe there is anything either 'good' or 'bad' about what people attract and create - it's all feedback and experience, and what is most important is what people feel about it that counts.
