2011 Intentions

Happy New Year! With all its newness shining like fresh moonlit snowbanks, the first day of the year is the perfect time to set clear and focused intentions. I choose 'intentions' rather than 'resolutions' as it holds more creative energy than the stop and start doing aspect of resolutions.

Here are my New Year Intentions:

  • I intend to be more peaceful each day; to soak up the present moment rather than rush to or wait for the next.
  • I intend and choose to drop judgment - of myself and others. To live and let live and feel ok with that. To look after my own patch of grass rather than covet, stress or worry over what others are doing.
  • I expect to honour my body with healthy choices, rather than war with it with 'shoulds' and 'ought tos'.
  • I choose to be the person I aspire to be now, before my circumstances change. I choose to feel prosperous, wealthy, abundant, successful, peaceful, and fulfilled now - as I know and expect my circumstances to evolve to reflect my inner vision.
  • I undertake to be a beacon of joy and happiness, pleased to see everyone, generous in spirit to all, a pleasure to be around, and an inspiration to others to live in delight each of their days.
  • I choose to be kinder to myself - to be gentler in my thoughts, to be more loving in my self-acknowledgment, to be more generous in time and energy in things just for me.
  • I intend to love and honour my business, my clients, my readers as I would a child - with love, respect, patience, and delight.
  • I intend to have more fun, to be more playful, to dance in the supermarket aisles, to be goofy, and act like a dork - just because it's fun.
  • I intend to play more board games, watch more movies, read more fiction, hike more mountains.
  • I intend to speak my truth - especially to myself.
  • I intend to start each day glowing from the day before - feeling the momentum of happiness building like a wave behind me.
  • I intend to wake with love in my heart, and to fall asleep with deep appreciation of the human experience and all the miracles and wonders of this planet.

Having made these intentions, the goals and and targets for my life and business take on a whole new pleasurable hue - like the unfurling of a sparkling path in springtime sunlight.

How about you? What are your intentions for this year? I'd love for you to share them with us here.

I wish you plenty of joy and peace as we ease into January.

  1. Beautiful intentions, Zoe! Happy New Year to you! I have just one intention this year, to stay attuned to and to celebrate the truth of my "I am." In other words, to listen to and to honor ME, which covers much of what you're saying here, especially the having more fun part. I'll be dancing in the aisles with you! :)

  2. I love it Ande! That's fabulous - the truth of who you are is indeed awesome. The having more fun part is the big doozy I am definitely taking on board too. Have a great week!
