X Men the movie came out in 2000, or so Wikipedia tells me. And I just loved it! Mutant do-gooders being victimised by racist humanoids? Cool. Amazing mutant superpowers like eyeballs that create electrical storms, telepathy, Jedi-like manipulation of objects, a tongue like a turbo-charged frog, and nuclear power zapping eyeballs? Right on!
I was trying to think how I could make a Law of Attraction story out of this movie, but I think I am actually too hungry and tired to think straight. It's lunch time and I have been distracted by Facebook again.
What can we learn from X Men? Probably lots about discrimination, fear, self-acceptance and other such banal and basic truisms. But the real value for me in X Men is that it was fun to watch. That's it! I enjoyed it.
Maybe that's the message - it doesn't always have to be deep and meaningful - sometimes it's good enough just to enjoy it.
Oprah? What does Oprah have to do with this post? Well like I mentioned, Jeannette Maw was on Oprah this week. She's posted her story about it and on feeling good here.
So whether you feel you need a reason to feel good (like getting on Oprah), or you're just feeling good because you can, and enjoy watching X Men, just get out there and feel good.
