From booty to looty - Law of Attraction tips for the butt and wallet

Booty Bits
Hope your booty has been shakin' all over in a good way. This first week was all about picking your intention, and getting a clear picture of what that looks like - hot pants, sailor pants with Fred Astaire buns, and a sexy little dress.

Next you've got to connect with the 'why' of your new booty. In other words, how do you want to feel with the new booty? Fun, free, sexy, strong, excited, confident? This is your real focus. Connect with the feeling of shaking that little butt, and then connect with that feeling over and over each day - in moments unrelated to your booty shaking and shaping. Got it? Good.

Hope your wonderfully well. Can I ask a minute of your time please on how you would have handled this situation?

I entered a competition to win an Audi TT one of my cars on my vision board. I had a call from the department today that set this competition up. They were trying to get me to enroll onto their euro millions lotto syndicate. £11 per month. Currently I only work 6 to 8 hours each week as a music lecturer, although a damn fine wage, its not enough to cover all my monthly expenses. I told them this, that I have to balance things carefully.

I was trying so so hard not to put out that feeling of lack, but sometimes it just cannot be helped. I am now beating myself up about the conversation.

Just such a difficult one, I try not to focus on the money all the time, and stay in the current moment, not looking ahead and worrying like usual.

Can you help? I know your words of wisdom are amazing." - Darren

From the coach:
"Hi Darren

Cool email! This is what I see in it:

1. The universe is responding - it sent you the contest with your car in it.
2. Your conflicted vibe about money put some obstacles in there to challenge your beliefs around money - this is an opportunity to reaffirm your intentions and desires.

To shift your vibe on this situation, always ask yourself, 'what's great about this? what's perfect about this?' and you can shift from there.

And by the way, it's not the money or lack of money that is causing you grief - it is only the stories that you tell around it. Money is just energy - it flows and ebbs like all other energy forms. It's the stories we attach to money that cause the suffering. Stories like, "If I don't earn enough money I am not a good person, I am failure."

The emotional stories we create around money get in our way of managing money properly and create a lot of unnecessary angst.

If we drop the stories around money and treat it like something without any emotional charge, then we will go a long way to dropping the fear and worry around money (and therefore clearing the way to attracting more of it).

Take for example this story: "I need money to live." Is this true? When you look at the nuts and bolts of this statement, you can say 'no - it's not true - I can live without money - there are ways of getting your needs met without having money."It feels true to us because of the emotional attachment to the concept of 'money'.

Let's try this statement again with something else (which is just energy - just like money) - something like 'underpants'.

Try again: "I need underpants to live." Clearly this is ridiculous! You do not need underpants to live. Underpants make living more comfortable, but are not required. Just like money.

Substitute 'underpants' some more for money and you'll see how ridiculous your stories really are. For example, "I have to balance my underpants carefully - there are not enough underpants to cover my monthly underpants." And you can see how funny this is!

There may not be enough underpants to cover the underpants going out the door, so you just need to adjust your underpant usage.

When you de-personalise money (there is so much emotional junk attached to money - it is all tied up to our sense of worth as human beings) - then it makes it so much easier to make pragmatic decisions around the management of your wealth - and to feel a sense of fun and practicality about it.

So if you an detach and depersonalise the meanings around money, it is easy to make decisions without the angst (such as saying 'no' to the monthly subscription - the underpants are currently allocated elsewhere) - and this lessens the resistance to bringing in more underpants.

Law of Attraction and how to pay the bills

I've been getting some good mail this week from readers. Here's one for how to unkink the money vibe:

"When you need money for bills and you are not sure if it will be coming in, what do you do? I usually worry how I am going to pay these bills, which makes me feel bad and insecure and the not knowing is scary! I would really appreciate your input on this as it is a consistent issue for me."- Niki

Here's my response:

Good question!

There are two main things to consider here: Environments and Focus (your vibe).

Obviously you don't want a worry vibe around money, because this just perpetuates the circumstances. So you can do mindset makeover strategies such as using the PSYCH-K process, you can release the worry energy around the bills using something like EFT, you can challenge your thinking using Byron Katie's questioning technique (The Work)

With this particular money issue, I have also found that re-designing environments to make all this easier is really helpful. In other words, what is there in your physical environment that you can change to alleviate the reminder of bills, the pressure of paying them? I would take practical action to lessen this stress in your life. Some examples are: are there ways to streamline your spending and obligations? what can you do differently to minimise your outgoings? What can you do to increase revenue? Take another on-the-side job to fund the basic expenses (therefore keep your worry about losing the house off your plate) and so on.

BUT the big question I have for you is this: if you are usually worried about paying your bills, do you usually get them paid? Do you somehow manage to make the payments? It sounds like you still manage to keep things going, but have not tuned in to the magic that you are creating and attracting in doing this! How do you manage to pay the bills each month? If it's a surprise gift from Uncle John, or a line of credit from the bank, or you sold an old piece of furniture - rather than discount this (because it did not come from the channel you expected -i.e. your business) - notice and celebrate at how marvelous it is that money and your needs are met in unique and wonderful ways! In this way you start to notice how clever you really are with money!

What happens then is that instead of worry about how to pay the bills, you are instead in a state of delighted anticipation about how it is all going to unfold - curious and grateful, rather than worried and stressed. AND you still take practical action to attract money (such as selling your work, or creating new venture relationships and so on). When you drop the worry, it makes it so much easier to see the opportunities that are probably all around you right now.

I told a story on my last teleclass about this very thing - I made $50 000 in one day doing nothing - how? When I was diagnosed with cancer, my insurance payout was $50 000. Amazing! no, it was not from my business - but was I going to let my ego get in the way of this gift from the Universe? No way!

So tune in to where the miracles that are turning up - and you will soon be learning that things are magic - well and truly.

Basically it's about how to produce marketing strategies that actually earn you money as you sell your message. Nothing tricky about this - it's all unique, creative stuff.

Yummy goodie to end the year right

It seems like I get asked every other day to promote someone else's book, product or 'rare opportunity'. It gets a little tedious.

However, Suzanne the Connexion Specialist, wasn't taking my polite fob off lying down. I said I did not like to promote anything unless I'd read it first. So she sent me a copy - by courier all the way to Australia - so I could take a look at this book she was raving on about.

It sat on my shelf for a few days and then I started reading it. And kept reading it. So far - it's amazing. Really! It's a spiritual cum Law of Attraction business prosperity book that is right up my alley, except for the almost-religious bits. Though this part is light on, and he makes a clear statement for spirituality rather than religion per se.

Attention coaches who want to make millions

Some coaches are making millions. Are you one of them?

What I love about both these books is that it is a practical how-to guide, with all the resources lain out like stepping stones.

You can make more moolah too.

Brian Tracy called Coaching Millions "the best single book ever written on how to be successful in coaching". Big call. The book deserves it though.

My copy is already dog eared and I have just put together my new business model. I swear I am on fire after reading this! I am already getting stuck in to my plan and I can feel the certainty of success flowing to me. Very cool.

A confession

It's sort of more of an admission, but I'd like to share it with you.

When I set up this blog, I told myself that it was a marketing strategy, a way of connecting with a broader audience, an easy platform for creative expression, a simple way of exploring LOA ideas, a way to engage a wider audience... I had lots of reasons to set up this blog but I really did not admit that the real reason I set up this blog was to make more money.

I learned everything I could about blogging, a fast as I could, so I could start raking in the big buckeroos. But of course this felt dirty and treacherous to me, so I disguised it with the more comfortable ideas of connection and marketing. But really I had this undercurrent of fear that was driving me. Fear of needing to make the business work, fear of failing, fear of being a bad businessperson, and so on. Passive revenue through blogging seemed like a fast and easy answer to it all.

Well no one can fool the Universe even they can easily fool themselves! I really tried to believe that I was 'over' the money thing, the fear of not having enough, of needing to manifest more of it. But obviously it was a strong recurring pattern - a habit I had just not kicked yet.

Like I said, the Universe does not ignore vibration, no matter what my head was trying to tell me. I was radiating the vibe of 'need more money and why doesn't it happen sooner' and sure enough that was what I attracted back: a dazzling result of 14cents from this blog in the last three months. (LOL) Boy oh boy what a lesson!

A funny thing happened through it all. I actually started to enjoy the blogging process. It is an easy way to post ideas, photos, and bits and bobs. I really enjoy cruising around the blogosphere and making new connections. It's been really cool learning new technological stuff.

I've let go of needing to make money with my blog. It's a lot more personal to me now. It is a way of fulfilling my passion: of writing and learning. It's fun!

My intentions are the same: to attract diverse streams of income through providing good quality services, while having fun. Whether this comes from the blog or through other means - I'll leave that up to the Universe. So far the Universe has done a pretty smashing job for me: I've had extra revenue from public speaking, new clients, affiliate sales, product sales, Adsense, and even selling my canoe for way more than I had hoped for. I had been so fixated on blogging being the answer, I was blind to all the other answers that were flooding in elsewhere. I am not so hung up on the outcome though that I forget the process - fun is the key ingredient for me.

I have also developed more awareness of how wealth actually flows and appears in a variety of ways. I notice and appreciate all the small gifts like the extra free 30 minutes I got on the parking meter yesterday, or the change I found in the garage, to the really big things that flood in, like a job offer that will more than double our income overnight. How cool is that?!

This old money pattern is deep one, and it has been a long process of self-discovery and re-education. Like a flower unfurling in the springtime, I am learning delightful new layers of complexity. Always more to learn! It is a liberating process.

So I am reviewing all the features of my blog and removing the bits that feel icky and desperate, as per that old money vibe thing. Anything to do with money exchange has got to have a clean vibe: one that feels fun, genuine, and in the interest of further personal growth for all.

The ads will stay. I actually find they add value - they list some pretty neat things there. The donation thing will go - doesn't feel quite right. Probably because I wouldn't donate money myself to a donation request form on a blog! I would however send a gift or something else to appreciate someone's blogging efforts. Or at least leave a comment. That all feels good.
